2017 Fiesta Field Day
Details: Friday, 28 April 2017, starting at 12:30 p.m.
Place: SJPII Campus, cafeteria and fields
All attendees receive a white SJPII shirt (pictured at right), a hamburger/hot dog/chips lunch, ICEEs, desserts, two tickets for door prize drawings, an afternoon of fun, and participation in the color throw.
12:20 – Doors open in the cafeteria. Get a burger or hot dog
lunch, change into your field day t-shirt. Get an ICEE. Get waters for the games. Door prize drawings throughout.
1:00 – Teams are selected for field day events. Teams will be randomly selected so that kids have to meet kids from other schools. We will have eight teams, led by some of our seniors.
1:10 – Games begin. Four rounds, where every team plays every game. 1:10 – 1:35: Round #1 1:45 – 2:05: Round #2
2:15 – 2:35: Round #3 2:45 – 3:05: Round #4
The games: Kick-ball; dodgeball; field games; and speed charades.
Color throw! We have had this event for the last three years as a part of our field day. Students are given bags of color (non-toxic, safe corn starch-based colored powder), and can then “throw color” around. (No student has to participate in this or in any other game.) At the conclusion, students can take the shirt home and either wash in the regular cycle to remove the color or spray with white vinegar and iron it (colors will set in).
Tug’o’war concludes the day. We plan to conclude by 3:45-4:00 p.m. First, second, and third place prizes!
