Comal ISD just announced a two-hour delay to the start of school tomorrow, Friday, 8 December 2017. As of this posting (9:15 p.m., Thursday), we will start school tomorrow at 10 a.m.
Mass at 10:15, followed by an Advent Luncheon.
Given the late start, and the wet weather,
we will be having a Blue & Gold Day.
Our sophomores working the service project were already going to be in Blue & Gold dress, and we will have to have most of our students helping with the loading process (see below) so all can attend Mass for the Holy Day and finish the service project.
ADVENT LUNCHEON
We will be changing the brunch to a lunch, so students can plan their meals accordingly.
Parent volunteers! Those who were planning to arrive early to work the event, and help with food prep, if you can arrive at 9 a.m., that would be great. That will give us enough time to get things ready. Any other parents that can arrive to help with prep and serving, please do so -- in the cafeteria.
ADVENT ANGEL DELIVERY TEAM
We are in communication with the De Paul Family Center to see their plans. As of right now, the delivery team will arrive at 10 a.m. with the rest of the school, attend Mass, and then head out to deliver. Since the folks who get the baskets have limited opportunities to get these supplies, the center is still having their event. The forecast tomorrow is also clear with a high of 57° so by 11 a.m., things will be wet, but no more snow.
BASKETBALL TEAMS
Right, we are not clear on what the two schools hosting the tournaments will be deciding. These will be decisions that will be made in the morning. The women's basketball team does not play until the evening, so that will likely be unaffected by the weather and any delays. The men's team is playing at noon and later in the afternoon. Look for communication from the coaches and team parents, please.
Again, should Comal ISD change the status of their inclement weather delay, we will follow what that is. Stay tuned to local media and their web site.
