On Wednesday, 25 January 2012, Monsignor Eugene O'Callaghan returned to JPIICHS for Mass with the school community. Monsignor served Sts. Peter & Paul Parish for sixteen years, before his retirement a few years ago. In the life of JPII, Monsignor played a pivotal role in guiding and advising the initial committee's work. "This is a very special place for me, personally," commented O'Callaghan at Mass. "To see you all, and what you are doing here, makes me very proud and pleased."
Now in retirement, Monsignor spends part of his year in Ireland, and spends much of his winter here in the New Braunfels area. For people like Deacon Bob Gorman, his return each year is a blessing and a great joy. "Monsignor did so much for this parish and community, and so to be able to spend time with him, and update him on our progress is a true treat," added Gorman.
Thanks, Monsignor, for all your support and for your ministry!
