Homecoming Fan Bus! Friday, 13 Sept 2013, 6:00 p.m. to home varsity football game at Judson grey campus - We will be running a fan bus to our homecoming game this week. Students need to sign up at the front office. It will run up to the Judson field at 6:00 p.m., arriving for the 7:30 p.m. game by 6:30 p.m. Students should bring money with them, so they can have refreshments at the tailgate party on campus prior to the game. The bus will bring fans back to campus after the game or students may be picked up directly from the game.
Homecoming activities! • Thursday – Theme dress: the Homecoming theme is the 1950’s, and over the past week, the classes have been planning hallway decorations for the theme. The dress for Thursday can match the theme and classes have been meeting to discuss these options. Student can just wear normal uniform on Thursday if they don’t want to wear anything for their theme. (The hallway themes are seniors: Space Race; juniors: 1950’s diner; Sophomores: Grease!; Freshman: Looney Tunes.)
• Thursday evening – Support the volleyball team, go to the game at New Braunfels Christian Academy! Due to a scheduling and gym availability conflict, this week’s home volleyball game had to be traded with the other game in our series with NBCA. Head up to the game in New Braunfels still the same – support the team!
• Friday – Extreme Blue & Gold Dress – Blue & Gold dress; students can color hair during the school day, ladies can have blue/gold nail polish on; sweat pants and shorts are allowed. Please save the face paint for the game and the tailgate party.
• Friday – Pep Rally – 2:45 p.m. All are invited to the pep rally in the gym led by our cheerleaders and student council.
• Tailgate party – Come out to the school, set up a tailgate party in the parking lot. Starting after the pep rally. Bring your games, chairs, and snacks. All tailgaters receive a JPII prize and will be entered into a drawing for Schlitterbahn. We will all caravan to the game at 6:00-6:15 p.m.
••••• Burgers will be for sale in the cafeteria, real ICEE’s, and chips. Get a burger, ICEE, and chips for $5. ICEE’s are $1, and extra burgers are $2. All proceeds benefit the Junior Class Prom.
Friday night – Football game vs. Dominic Savio Catholic High School, 7:30 p.m. Kick-off (held at Judson Grey Campus Field, 9695 Schaefer Rd, Converse, TX. Schaefer Rd. is Rocket Lane in its intersection with Loop 1604).
Saturday night – Homecoming Dance, 7:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in New Braunfels (111 Landa St. New Braunfels, TX 78130) Students need to buy their ticket before school this week. Note that the school will have an off-duty Comal Co. Sheriff on site, along with plenty of faculty chaperones. The dance concludes at 11:30 p.m.
SCHOOL PHOTOS Sam Roberts Photography will be here next Wednesday, 18 September 2014, starting at 7 a.m. for school photos. This is a Mass day, so students will be in their Mass dress for the day. Students will report to the photo room immediately when they arrive. Photos will be taken through the first three class periods (or until complete).

SERVICE OPPORTUNITY ***********************************
• OLPH WILDCAT RIDE/RUN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL JPII STUDENTS - Earn DOUBLE service hours!!! OLPH is hosting their annual Wildcat Ride/Run on Saturday, 21 September, and they need our help! We've been asked to assist in several areas. Sign up sheets will be available at the front office. ALL VOLUNTEERS NEED TO WEAR JPII GEAR TO THIS EVENT!!!
We're asking for two shifts of 4-6 parents and students each to man the JPII table near the Starting Line at OLPH Catholic Church, located at 16075 North Evans Road, Selma, TX.
You will be handing out information and answering questions about our school. The two shifts are 8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
We also need two shifts of 4-6 parents and students each to man Rest Stop #1 located at Weil Road & Santa Clara Road. These volunteers will be asked to make Gatorade, sandwiches, and cut fruit for the participants - please bring your own sunscreen, chairs, snacks, & drinks. The two shifts are 8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
• Free BLUE & GOLD DRESS PASS Bring in one of the items below and receive a Blue & Gold pass!!
These items are needed for the OLPH Wildcat Ride & Run.
Freshman & Sophomores - bring in one plastic jar of creamy peanut butter
Juniors & Seniors - bring in one plastic jar of grape jelly
• Parent/teacher conferences An email will be sent out on Monday to sign up for time slots for the teachers you would like to meet with. Parent-teacher conferences will be Monday, 23 September 2013, from 3:30 to 7 p.m. The sign-up system is hosted on-line, so that all parents can select the times that are going to work best for them. Of course, parents can contact teachers at any time to set up conferences and meetings as necessary.
