Congratulations Well Done, Volleyball team! Congratulations on winning the district and advancing to the regional final. You represented us well!

• Good luck, One Act Play & Swimming & JV Girls Basketball & Football •
All four teams have competitions, tournaments, and games this Friday and Saturday. Play hard!

Founders’ Day: Saturday, 9 November 2013 – 4^th annual chili cook-off at 10 a.m. set up of chili stations, and 11 a.m. serving. The Powder Puff Tournament follows at 11:30.

Chili tables will be in the school courtyard. The spots are first come, first served. We ask each Solidarity team to help with their booth, including getting a tent if desired. We will have tables and chairs for each station.

• The chili cook-off committee will be selling commemorative chili mugs, with spoons for $5 each.
• With the mugs, you get voting tickets for the top chilis. This year, we have three top chili awards.
• All you can eat chili in the mugs! (Sampling is free.)

Thanks to all who have remembered the drinks donation.
Freshmen: 24 pack of water
Sophs: ladies: 12 pack of Sprite, gents: 12 pack of Dr. Pepper
Juniors: Ladies: 12 pack of Diet Coke or Diet Dr. Pepper; Gents: 12 pack of Regular Coke
Seniors: Box of Capri Suns and a 12 pack of water

The equestrian club will have lots of entertainment for our community, including ponies and horse rides and free popcorn.

Open House: This year, we are having our Open House during Founders’ Day. The hope is that this will be a well-attended event where prospective families can meet our JPII community and learn more about the great things that our school offers: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Catholic Life Sweepstakes Thank you to those who have sold tickets so far! Students have sold $14,406.00 worth of tickets the six weeks. Here is next week’s incentive:
• $50 VISA gift card for most sales to date AND chocolate chip cookies for all who have sold all 40 tickets!

Football fan bus This Friday, the varsity team travels to St. Gerard’s, on Friday, 8 November, game time 7:30 p.m. Sign up on the front counter! There is no charge – support the team at the final regular season game of the year. Bus leaves at 5:45 p.m.

Volunteer opportunity We are in need of sophomores to volunteer for the Guardians Gala, on Wednesday, 20 November 2013, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. There is a sign-up sheet on the front counter. We need around 25 workers, and will run a bus from school and back to school to help with transportation. Know that those volunteers cannot be choir members. As we go forward, we are asking sophomores to help with Guardians Gala (20 Nov.) and freshmen to help with Knight with the Seminarians (22 Feb. 2014).
