Over thirty students walked in the Texas Rally for Life on Saturday, 27 January 2014. The students are all members of the Pro-Life Club at the school, and are led by juniors Sarah Jarzombek and Kelsey Hall, and sophomore Joe Gagnon. The students gathered at the school first, and were led in a Holy Hour of Adoration by Deacon Bob Gorman.
The student-led Pro-Life Group has attended the Texas Rally at the Capitol two other times over the last five years. "Our students are dedicated to forming a Culture of Life, as John Paul II exhorted all of us to do, and attending the rally is a powerful way to stand up for the most vulnerable in our society," commented Dr. Foster, a faculty member and one of the club's sponsors. Dr. Foster noted that for many students, the rally is one of the first pro-life advocacy efforts that they have ever been involved in. "One of the great benefits for the students is to be surrounded by so many of their peers at the rally--young people from all over Texas--who are standing up for life. It's very heartening, and makes our students all the more determined to bring that pro-life enthusiasm back to our school."
During the coming month, we encourage all of our families to keep pro-life issues in their daily and family prayers -- pray for an end to abortion, pray for our country to respect life, all the time for everyone, pray for justice.
